I get those yellow flowers in the pasture by the pond. I'll take my new camera out there this morning and look for some. I don't have a macro lens but I can use an extension tube on my 50mm lens.

Cynthia, I have been buying upper end cameras since shooting the ATV races ten years ago. I haven't really used Point and shoot cameras except my Sony but it is not cheap. If you buy at Best Buy you can return it in the first 15 days for any reason.

Gotta go feed Jack. He's raising heck out there!

I don't know for sure. I do know it also goes by Yellow Star Tulip and they are closely related. Same Genus


top ones are weeds Mariposa Lilly. had not herd of that one but found it under Mariposa Lilly ( not my pics)


Yellow star will sometimes have a darker center as well. not always though. I have seen it with a Red center a few times on my property and last one. Usually just se it yellow.

Its native to the Sierras and Foothills above around 2000ft

Yep, it was about that size! Now I want to find one with the dark center!

No Best Buy within 100 miles of me, but I won't buy from them anyway. May have to do some more research.
