Oh, geez, the elderly woman who lives across the road from the end of my 200' driveway is having some handyman finish a shed frame she had done maybe a year ago. There were rumors she wanted chickens. She can barely walk on her swollen ankles and has lots of health issues. There are now half solid walls and part wire. Sounds like a chicken coop to me. Dang it. This is a crazy woman who feeds raccoons and foxes and doesn't believe coyotes or her Boston Terrier will hurt chickens. And she will probably buy overpriced diseased chickens from an old feed store in town, too. Good grief, someone save me from stupid people! If any of her chickens make it onto my property, they will be insta-culled. "What chickens? I didn't see any chickens. Better keep any eye on them. We have a coyote pack close by, ya know, lady. This isn't a Disney movie where the local wildlife all skips down the lane holding hands."

I am sorry to hear this!

She will likely not have them long. I feel sorry for the poor Chooks.

Mary do fainting goats outgrow their fainting-ness as they get older? Haven't seen any great fainting videos of Laverne and Shirley in a coon's age.

They both fainted yesterday when I dropped the feed bucket!

But yes, they mostly just stiffen their hind legs unless they really get scared like thinking they might have to eat off the ground.

My husbands grandparents have both been deceased for several years, the property has been for sale since at least 2008. The family has been gradually chipping away at the huge amount of things amassed in their house, shed, shop, and the old gas station out front. A fire last summer ruined what was left of the house which was sad. Tonight while we were there for an easter egg hunt and cookout, and my father-in-law unlocked the gas station for us to take a look around. I have never stepped foot in there, it has always been packed to the ceiling with "treasures." (I call it the Myers Packrat gene) BUT tonight I found some cool treasures of my own. Three wood and one metal Old Trusty incbuators. Not sure yet what I want to do with them. They have quite a bit of water damage from the leaky ceiling in the station.
