Stella's Social Club

This is my lucky week. On Monday I got an email from a food blog party I follow. There was a trivia contest asking the name of the documentary about the guy who ate McDonalds for a year. The first person to email the correct answer would win a Vegan cookbook. Within about ten seconds I typed Super Size Me and hit reply. I won! Now what am I going to do with a Vegan cookbook? I am going to cook vegetables, that's what!

I should go buy a Powerball ticket.

BTW I have been sitting on some pics I wanted to share. Last week I got a huge box in the mail and it contained a gift from Mike for me and one for Kelly. Kelly has been gallivanting all over the place and too busy to come and get hers so I couldn't post the pics or give away a secret. This has been hard on me. Very hard. I could never keep a secret. If I found an immunity idol on Survivor I would tell everyone. I am so bad.

Anyway, Mike sent us egg crates from Lehmans! They are so cool. I am not letting real eggs get anywhere near mine, but I put wooden eggs in it and it is on the front porch. I haven't gotten it displayed exactly as I want it but we just love it. I may put it on the service porch to collect and separate hatching eggs, but that would mean using it for real eggs. Hmmm, gotta think about this but it would be cool for that too. I could use styrofoam cartons in case of breakage.

I had the egg crate sitting next to my fake chicken last week. Michael and I were sitting on the porch having coffee when the pest control guy came around the deck. It scared the cr@p outta' him! We laughed our butts off. He said one of his other customers keep all kinds of things in her yard to scare away predators including a coiled rattlesnake. he said it gets him every time he goes behind her garage!

Anyway, thanks so much Mike for the very thoughtful gift.
Can't wait to see mine!

It's raining, it's pouring, my old man is snoring! La la la la la

My food photography class starts one week from today. My instructor, George Crudo, visited my blog and said this:

What a great Food Blog site!

Judging from your images on the site, it looks like you're doing pretty well already with your photography.

We'll be covering other light sources, in addition to natural light, that should help you
in your "chase for the light"!

I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work in the weeks to come.

George

I am positively giddy! I'll be a nervous wreck getting my submissions in, so you guys will have to talk me down from the ledge a lot over the course of this class! It's only four weeks. I know you can do it. Keep me vertical Diva! Actually, if you click on the link to George's site he shoots a lot of horizontals.
