A couple of things I made recently.

Fresh Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sandwich with flourless chocolate cookies. Diva? Diva?



Orzo with fresh pea salad. This is delicious!

I have a couple of photos of my broody girl. I haven't had one in a while, still can't believe it's a leghorn. I hatched her..Heritage, not feed store, so maybe that's why. She is a sweetheart. In the fist photo she was up and around getting what she needed for the day, then when I came around she went back to her three little eggs and gingerly stepped around them and started to settled down. She had her hackles up a bit, but then settled down a little and I put my hand up to her. I can pick her up to peek, she doesn't peck. When I usually visit her, she is really hunkered down..notice that tail though..a bit nervous. It's usually laying low along with her whole body. She only has a week left. I'm going to sneak more chicks under her when the ones I have in here start to hatch, and hers too. From the same doz. I set.
Can you tell that I am excited to have a mama and chicks around again? Like I said, it's been a while. The last ones were from my Bantam Favorelle.




My Favorelle..I fixed it up to welcome newcomers.

Whoa those ice sandwiches look so big, I don't know if I could eat more than one. There's goes my reputation.

Have to say the food dish looks beautiful even tho I hardly ever stray from meat, potatoes, corn on the cob and ICE CREAM. Those are my food groups.

Kelly WOULD heal faster with ice cream - definitely!! Her near- by friends(Mary) should be stocking her freezer even as I write this. Get her some long ice tea spoons too, makes it easier to reach into big cartons of ice cream - and straws in case Kelly prefers it real melty.

The orzo salad looks yummy................although for my personal taste, I'd probably go with feta.

But despite my dietary quirks, the pictures look great as usual.

Well actually Diva, the first batch of cookies were about the size of my head and I have a big head! I had to switch to a much smaller cookie scoop!

But it's fresh chocolate mint from the garden, not mint extract! Big difference.

I chose Parmesan over feat because I thought with the orzo it had sort of an Italian vibe. I found another recipe tonight for a white and wild rice salad with fresh peas that has cheddar. I am going to try it with the last of my English peas.
