Wow, 10 years is a great life for a chicken. I'm sorry you lost her, but you gave her a good life.

I've been on pins and needles most of the day. My dad and his wife have been caring for my grandmothers dog, a chihuahua. (My grandmother is too far gone to have her) Due to blood clots in her legs, my step mom can't care for the dog. I was the last resort for her, but I have a large German shepherd that has never been around any dogs, much less a squeaky toy dog. She has surprised me and they are doing quite well together.

Now for the shock when my DH comes home. He doesn't know yet. I was going to take Maggie to my brothers, but he's got sick kids right now.

A pocket pet will be fun.

When I was a kid, my dad always claimed to not like our cat, but whenever we'd get home unexpectedly, we'd catch him pushing the cat off his lap. Maybe your DH will be the new dog's biggest fan!

Snowflake was beautiful! She was one lucky chicken for you to have taken her in. And you were blessed to have her for so long. Sorry for your loss. Wow, 10 years!

I planted three fig trees about five years ago and they've just limped along ever since.

Today I picked the very first fruit, three lovely ripe figs, with three more nearly ready. There are about another six figs set on this tree.. I closely examined one of the other trees and there are about ten fruit recently set there also. I'm looking forward to these trees going into full production so I start having as many figs as I'd like at my disposal.

They were delicious.

My persimmon also produced for the first time. There are about 40 persimmons set, currently about the size of large olives. I can't wait for fall to try them out.

Wow! poultry is coming out of the wood work here. Next door they have ducks, this morning I saw one female with 10 babies. My eggs hatched under my olive egger and she has 10. I had already bought 5 Buff orps and had one hatching of 4 of Kathys Dels next generation here. Whew! can someone say to many for me. I have to keep my num. down due to traveling in the falls from Mtn to coast. NOT My IDEA at all. I feel like a little kid who wants to jump up and down and say nooooooooooo. I want to stay here always. Sadly not to be at this time.
In my hatch I have 6 ? Dels and 4 mixed ? EE's. Time will tell for sure. They sure are cute. I can't for the life of me post Pictures on this site. Facebook is easy but not here.
