I put in three different varieties, but I'd have to go look at the tags to see what they were. I forget it's been so long ago. One of the three hasn't set anything yet, the second just started. It has a fairly good set of figs about the size of peas right now.

I love figs and they are so expensive to buy in the stores since they don't transport well. I better love them, three trees and two people,

Of course I figure you need to plant for the birds as well. My biggest thrill was to discover they are something the deer haven't bothered even without fencing. I thought I lucked out until a few days ago I found "edible fig trees" listed on a deer "proof" web list. Although I'm sure they'd happily eat the fruit.

The deer don't eat mine, but they do rub the fuzz off their antlers on them and break branches.

The squirrels like figs. Fig jam is supposed to be wonderful, but I'm still waiting for enough figs on mine to be able to make a batch of jam.

Here is my mama with some babies. I took a few more out to her as mine hatched in here. Still can't believe my leghorn went broody. It's fun watching her with them. Cluck..cluck..cluck..cute talk. :)

I still can't believe a Leg horn went broody was she a hatchery chick or from a breeder cute chicks are they a barnyard mix????????????????????????

Awww, she looks very happy with those babies! My broody has 3 eggs left under her and all 3 have pips. 2 barnevelders and 1 olive egger.
