I know Mary, you will not like it.... but I am grateful, I almost stepped on it.... And yes, the bulge was a baby chick. There was no relocating, I got a spade and chopped the head off.

This has been the most difficult time for me raising baby chicks, first, my own barnyard mix eggs did not hatch, not one and then from the 20 day olds I purchased I have 11 that are going well. However one "hen" is getting wattles and a pink comb... aoh...

and I am proud of you. You are much braver than I am. Poor chick, when I think of that - you should have chopped the head off twice (don't ask me how) that slither thing deserved it in spades.

Here's a non-snake picture for you.

Creating a nice big covered run for my Cream Legbars, and in the winter it will hold most of my hens so simplify feeding and watering in the cold. Coop is an 8x8. I need to modify it to hold enough roost bars.
