Yikes you're freaking me out with the hospital stories. I finally got to see him for a good long visit in recovery. Then he got moved to his room at about 10:00 p.m. I stayed till he got settled and then a security guard drove me to my hotel. This is a dangerous are with lots of muggings. Michael and the nurses refused to let me walk so the security guard drove me over in the patrol car, I got to sit in the font and yell, "Whada I do?"

Michael seems much better tonight except for some nausea. He is also freaked out because he is getting short tempered and people are pissing him off for no reason. He says the only people he's not ****** at are me and Tucker.

I think if he can sleep tonight he'll do fine tomorrow.

That sounds kinda funny. I wonder if that's how anesthesia affects him. I hope he got a decent night sleep, not an easy thing to do in a hospital.

Diva - that hospital stay sounds horrific.

I got a little sleep but Michael got zero. Old guy yelling the "F" word all night next door, kids running the hallways, and a "pain control" guy in the bed next to him. Then his nurse made an error that caused them to delay his discharge this morning. But I got him home safely and in his own bed. Now I have to leave to go halfway back down to pick Tucker up from boarding. They only allow pickups between certain hours and we missed the first two! If I don't get him between 4 and 6 he has to stay until tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks again for all the positive support.

Hopefully being tucked away in his own bed, will do wonders for Michael with his pillow mate Tucker. When they fall asleep it's your chance to catch some zzzz's just like bringing a new baby home from the hospital. The only chance to sleep is when they are napping. Hope nurses and others stop throwing road blocks in your way.

Me too Diva! Everyone was great but they wouldn't let him go until they were sure he could take pain meds without the nausea returning. So the nurse gave him the pain med and an IV dose of an anti-emetic! So they made him wait until the next dose of pain med was due in four hours to see if it made him sick. Good grief.

Mary, is Tucker back home?

yes I picked him up at four yesterday afternoon. He won't leave Michael's side and seems to understand that things are different right now. he tried to climb on Michael at first but since then has been laying quietly by his side. Tucker is used to flying through a room and leaping up on top of Michael so this is unusual behavior for him. Now we just have to get it all back to the usual over the next few weeks. Thanks for asking.
