What nerve him coming on your property to cut foliage.

I had a friend who bought 40 acres and was letting one of her pastures grow in order to cut it for hay. One day she came out and found her neighbor out with his lawn mower just finishing up mowing that pasture. He was doing her a favor.... but she lost a years worth of fodder for her horses.... I have no idea how that worked out though.

The last property I owned had one quarter of it under the control of the adjoining neighbor. He had removed the fence and had been mowing and maintaining it for years while the property was rotting away vacant. Getting that pasture back was a bit awkward on more than one occasion but we finally put in a fence and took it back. The neighbor would then climb the fence and cut trees, plant bulbs, etc. Eventually he stopped but it wasn't easy. Good times. Not.

Mike, that's the dog in your avatar right..when it was a pup. Grew up nice. :) Looks like fun training. I used to train dogs, but in herding sheep! I love to watch those dogs work.

Octopus..I love love Octopus!
Yes, that's him before he came to live with us (less than 8 weeks old).

Lovely

Ooooooh Deb, I'm in love with your horse. I love Percherons. Up this way, we have a Draft Horse Classic every year.

I dreamed of being able to show with the "Big GuYs" when I got Katee. Not in the cards for me.... Katee is 20 now and living the life of a queen now.

We did get to show at Del Mar in 2001...and 2002... Well My trainer showed her in 01 and I tried to show her in 02. we earned enough to pay for the stalls and gas..... it was SOOOO Much fun. Draft horse show people are quite a bit different than light horse show people....

Awesome, you've got rocks for neighbors! The best kind of neighbor!

Yep.... though surprisingly you cant see em but I have four houses line of sight from my front yard.... Its the rocks.

There is something about the desert that attacts people that just want to be left alone. The water here is pretty guarded so very few put in large gardens or orchards. My well is 450 feet deep and the water table has dropped 100 feet from previous years.... So I grow nothing that cannot live off what the sky provides.

Besides the land is covered with medicinals and I am learning about their qualities and uses.

Congrats on the couch!

Where are the cats? Couches must have a cat on them.

It is a good thing that you like it. I suppose it would have cost more than $10.00 to take it to the landfill?

LOL Hubby hates cats. He has a mild cat allergy and uses that for his excuse. But when we bought "the farm" I convinced him we needed one outdoors for rodent control- and then HE suggested we may need a second out there after a day mowing in the pasture!!!

Haha it's not the prettiest in the picture. But it's a good sturdy fabric in a nice neutral color, it's comfortable, and THE CUSHIONS ARE ATTACHED AT THE BACK. My four little gremlins would dump all the pillows on the floor every time they walked by the old couch, and flip all the seat cushions off too just for good measure. Hence my hatred of it. I played pillow-pickup more times per day than I could count. Here is the beast at our old house. It was free couch/loveseat/chair set given to us by a family moving cross country. We were just getting back in our own place after a stint of unemployment 7 years ago and had been living with family for 8 or 9 months. So we were very grateful at the time. When we sold it we got a recliner and a rocker, the kids sat on the floor, and we would use folding chairs and the computer chair when company came over. Times are snug right now as we have been warned layoffs are looming for my husband's company so $10 was perfect for us.

Much perfer this!

HI PERCHIE, glad to see you. Nice easy pace to Stella's club, you can relax and kick back. Wait till you get to meet Mary's animals, donkeys (Diana sings*). emus. fainting goats, chickens and more chickens and a very trend setting dog named Tucker.

* Diana's first album should be "Diana Sings the Blues." Oh yes and Mary is a very accomplished food photographer.
