Thanks plans got cancelled... our "guest" is leaving too early today. I may make it any way as a test to the recipe.

Aw, sorry. Post a pic if you do the recipe test.

Safeway had king crab legs on sale, so that is what we are having for dinner. Michael is finally feeling a little bit better since getting sick after his family Christmas function. Everyone else got sick too and in fact, his mother is in the hospital. I guess it is the flu. I catch everything I am exposed to, so my time is coming.

No ground dwelling vermin were delivered this morning, so my day is off to a good start!

Regarding the flu vaccine, I always get it. I am at high risk due to lung and heart problems. This year I was waiting for my doctor to get in the high dose version of the vaccine and apparently they ran out as soon as they got it. I plan to call tomorrow to see if he thinks there is any benefit from my getting the regular flu shot at this point. They say the virus has mutated but while the shot probably won't protect you from getting the flu, it might lessen the symptoms. I did get the flu two years ago and my doctor put me on Tamiflu right away.

I've gotten flu shots since the '80s because I was caretaker to my elderly parents(my mom had pneumonia once) and then my son came along and brought "stuff" back from pre school etc. I cannot remember the flu except that it was good for losing a few pounds. None of us, or my brother has ever gotten the flu from a shot. I think sometimes people are coming down with the flu and don't realize it - get the shot, and think IT caused the flu.

My sister can't get the shot because she is allergic to eggs. My son was offered $ 100 plus other perks like gift cards etc., at work if he would come in for a free health screening and flu shot. He won't do it. I'd have gotten the shot before they finished the sentence.
