Has anyone made a chocolate banana cake? I would prefer response from folks that aren't chocoholics - because not everyone likes chocolate in everything like I do.

If so, and others thought it was quite edible, what did you use for the chocolate? Thank you in advance, your humble servant dd

Hmmm I do not know if I count since I love chocolate but this is liked by those on the home bakers thread:

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Combine:

1/3 cup of oil (80ml)
1 cup of sugar (250ml)
1/4 cup of water or milk (60ml)
Add:
1-2 beaten eggs
2-3 mashed bananas
1 tsp. vanilla (5ml)
1 tsp. lemon juice, optional (5ml) (I don't use it, but you could try)
Combine separately and add:
2 cups flour (500ml)
1/2 tsp. salt (2ml)
1 tsp. baking soda (5ml)
1/4-1/2 tsp. cinnamon (1-2ml) (Use as much of this as you want, I doubt I ever put this little.)

Fold the flour mixture gently into the wet ingredients, being careful not to over-mix, until batter forms. (This is a quick bread so you will get a batter, not a dough.) Stir in 1/2-1 cup of chocolate-chips, pour into a greased loaf pan or 9*9 pan. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius) for 45-60 minutes, or until bread is golden brown and an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
Be sure you have your bananas mashed before you start doing everything else, it's very annoying to forget it and then have to mash them while you're in the middle of the recipe.

Thank guys. I just ate 6 of the 12 Banana nut muffins - I spread Jif chocolate silk (peanut butter) on the tops - good but, I'm not feeling well enough to eat the last 6. Might have to wait a hour or so to finish those. If I don't eat everything, it will be' calling me' all night long'- burp!

I thought Feb. 27th was National Strawberry Day.
