Rinda, great pictures. Glad you are down to 3 dogs.

Mary, I'm glad you are going to the doctor. Whatever this is, I needs to be looked at. I know nurses make the worst patients. I'll be thinking of you.

Me too. I've been worrying about you. (I'm the designated worrier in my family too)

This classic and a perfect example why I hate getting medical attention.

I called my doctor last night. The on-call telephone operator told me to try to get in my doctor today, but in the meantime go online and request a scheduled appointment at the Urgent Care Center for this morning. I did that. It asked me to type in my symptoms, which I did. A message popped up and told me that I was banned from using the In-Quicker system for 24 hours because of the symptoms I listed. I guess people choose those so they get in quicker!

Absurd! If I don't get an appointment today with my doctor I will have to go to ER or wait and try again in 24 hours using the symptom toenail fungus.

OK I am back after calling my doctor's office. Turned down for an appointment today by 2 advice nurses and one PA. Told to go to the ER. I said I wound't do that and finally the third advice nurse gave me an appointment for Wednesday morning but told me they would probably call me to cancel after my doctor sees my symptoms. So, I guess if I get worse, I'll go to the ER and wait 12 hours to be treated like crap, called a malingerer, have nothing done about my symptoms except being parked in a hallway for twelve hours on a gurney. Been there, done that!

Symptoms of our medical care system today Mary. I had a spell with my heart acting up. I was told I could not get an appt for over a month away because I have not been seen by this Dr. in over two yrs. What?? Punished for not being sick! I was not dying of pain so I will wait for my appt with the internest who will come back from vacation next wk. If it gets to bad I'll go to the ER. I hate the way our system has changed in the last 16 yrs. I use to could get an appt for the same day and at least get some help. My heart somtimes goes way out of rythum but so far after about 10min. it will correct istself. I want to know why , is that to much to ask? PS I am almost 70

Not too much to ask at all, just too much to get! Mine usually corrects itself too, but not this time. One of the advice nurses I was talking to this morning questioned why I sounded so short of breath. I said because I have been standing in my laundry room on the phone for 30 minutes trying to get an appointment. I decided to start sweeping and mopping instead of standing around.

My brother has had to use Urgent care a few times and he said he didn't have to wait long and was pleased with the experience, he has many, big health problems and a dozen specialists that are on vacation ,at a" different location" at this time, booked for months, relocating to another state, etc. etc.

I am so old I remember when doctors made house calls - kids knew if you saw a man carrying a black bag RUN & HIDE. I thought it was horrible that my parents allowed him to come to the house and torture me. It was bad enough at his office- even though I don't recall him ever giving us shots at home. The thought alone caused panic.

Panic yes! and they did give me shots. I had red measles which turned into what they called black measles back when I was 6. I looked like someone had taken a black marker and tiny dotted me all over. A shot everyday for a wk and all the curtains pulled to protect my eyes. Also the first quil(glass straw) I had ever seen for me to drink through. I couldn't open my mouth wide enough for a spoon. Things really have changed.

Crazy Hen, I had no idea measles came in colors. The Black kind sounds much more serious. One of my cousins had hearing loss from measles- I don't know what kind. I think they called it German measles when I was young.
