Yum..... I love anything with Strawberries.... we just planted 4 large raised beds with strawberries in our front yard- can't wait for them to get established! 50 plants each in 4 varieties. Seems like a lot- but I promise they will barely keep up with me and my kids' love for strawberries!
Be prepared to battle the rolly polly's for your strawberries. They like them too.

Fresh Strawberry Cake. Yummy.

Oh yummy! It looks light, like a chiffon cake.

Is that entomologically correct?

Rinda, do you have to put up deer fencing around the beds to keep the critters out? That bed would be decimated in an hour here.

This is our first year to try and grow anything at this house. We see deer down by the creek but not up by the house. Most every house has at least one dog, most of them off leash. I do plan to make a chicken wire tunnel over it to keep the rabbits out.

Oh yes we've had strawberries before. I know it.

It's a buckling (of course), 7 lb 10 oz, due date was tomorrow so right on time! She's a first freshener but she's being a very attentive mom- anytime he mehehes she comes running and sniffs him over. I had to take him in and clean him up a bit because she didn't do a very good job and it's overcast and chilly today. Haven't seen her let him eat but I thought I'd let him rest for an hour or so and then tie her to the fence and make sure he eats. I did check her teats and her milk has come in.

And we just purchased these two sweethearts last week from the same breeder our others came from. Buckling red collar and doeling purple collar, about 5 weeks old, both bottle babies. None of the babies have names yet! Suggestions?

Cuties! If you let your kids name them, you will probably be stuck with Thing 1 and Thing 2.

Haha actually my kids are addicted to Minecraft right now- not the actual game but the YouTube channel of player Zack Scott playing the game. Jonathan (5yo) wants to name the goats Zack Scott and Jenn (the other person who usually plays with him). That was a big NO from me!

We did end up selling the rest of the pups last week- yay! I deliver Zach tomorrow, and Colby on Saturday. Turbo's new mom is getting her dog kennel moved from another property and will come and get him in a week or two. Phew! Aaaaand- Harper (the mom) just went into heat.
