You guys are killing me.

Rinda - what puppy is below Gracie?

Quote:
Do you mean in this picture? That's Cooper above her, the red merle male. He's a cutie, too! I'm pretty sure the red tri below her is Buddy.

Rinda - here's my honey.

My queen in my main hive has been busy! Wall to wall brood on every frame in the top broodchamber. Some honey on the outer edges of the frames. I checkerboarded some of the empty frames to keep the queen with some room. The main flow is on right now, and I don't need her swarming.

Lastly, when closing up, I saw this perfect picture of nectar transfer.

Very nice! We started honey harvest last week. It is GORGEOUS this year! And delicious as usual!

And Ammon was THRILLED that Daddy took him out to the other bee yards to help pull honey! He only came home with one sting! (And accidentally ran the battery dead in the truck... but that's another story...)

Some other pictures of the honey process:

Rinda, you must be psychic. I did just have some Baskin-Robbins Mocha Almond Fudge. My brother said he got 2 - pints(14 oz.) for me. He brought one Sunday and he'll bring the other one later.

So far I have been good as gold, I had a little bit Sunday and a little more today but, no frantic binging. I am trying hard to teach myself I don't need to eat the whole thing at once.

Buddy is a real looker too.

Buddy is a cutie. He doesn't have as nice of a white collar as Tank though.

Here's my "Yidia" as she calls herself. This is where I look when I can't find her. Always. She will ask, "Momma I go hold da puppies?" so pleadingly. She is so gentle with them! I love it. Anytime the puppies whimper and wiggle she tells me they are "thirsty" and tries to get Harper to climb in the box and nurse them. I'm pretty sure she's holding Bella. Buddy is the red tri center bottom. Maggie is the black tri to his right. Gracie's little legs are to the left of him. And Tank is on the left by Lydia's legs.

I so wish I could share all the rain with you Californians! We are getting pounded again. Expected to get another 6 inches this week. My poor chickens. We bought a clearance pallet of sod for $70 just before the last heavy rains and spread it out in the muddiest spots. It's helping a ton. I'm hoping and praying we don't end up with water coming up under the hallway stairs again. I noticed today the problem is with our guttering- it's either slanted wrong or clogged up, and the water pours over the edge of the house directly in front of the crawlspace door, which is not well attached and does not have a proper rim on the bottom. So we had water flow up under the house and over to the slab addition during the last downpour. Got it dried up and cleaned the carpets- don't want to do that again! ALL these towels were soaked.

Aw, kids and puppies! Love it.

Picked ten pounds of cukes this morning and there must be hundreds more coming along. These in the pan will the refrigerator dills. The other 8 lbs will be canned bread & butter so we can store them in the basement. Should have a bookshelf full of pickles this year, I'd say.
