I doubt anyone would pay $ 10, roosters are a dime a dozen. Which is why so many people find a rooster in their yards, sometimes more than one. People just dump them like a cigarette butt. Sorry but, that is the truth.

Yep, nobody is going to pay that much for a male unless he's show quality from a top breeder.

Sorry to say I agree with both the above, as you have found extra roosters can be very difficult to keep. Realistically most extra roos are going to end up as dinner, and I would prefer that they be well taken care of and humanely killed if that is the case - so I take care of it myself.

X3 the most I have ever paid is $15.00 for a roo. I see people who ask lots for male poultry so that they go to a good home but they r never bought. The most I have seen is $100.00 for a tom!!

Rinda - I've joined you in vet bills. I took my dog in for her annual checkup and to bring her vaccinations current. Easy, right? Yeah, until she tested positive for lyme disease.

So now she's on a $100 antibiotic for a month.

I didn't even know they tested for that. Yet another sign that I can not afford to have a dog. What kind of dog do you have Kelly? I suppose guineas would eat lyme ticks if they could see them.

She is a German Shepherd. The vet said she may or may not ever show symptoms. They test for heartworm, roundworms, anaplasmosis and lyme disease annually. She has tested positive for anaplasmosis in the past, which is also tick bourne, but not as bad as lyme disease.

Yep, but she is solid black and a tick magnet. I don't know what it is about black, but ticks are drawn to it like crazy. Even with Frontline, a few will bite her before I find them and get them off. We live in a heavily wooded area on acreage.

wow, that's too bad... I'd love to see a picture of her... we had a shepherd years ago...
