Red paint needs 3 coats when it goes on and about 10 when you want to paint over it! I painted a huge room in Michael's music studio candy apple red to match his drum set. Never again!

I am over in the house prepping inside the kitchen cabinets for paint. They are so gross inside. Using gobs of caulk and molding to cover the big gaps. Yucky. I'll be at it all day. This is the only day that Johnny and crew won't be here. The doors are off, drawers and gone and the countertops off. This will be my first and last chance at easy access. Well, easy if my back wasn't curled up like a freaking pretzel. I bought a paint sprayer so I might actually be changing my hair color to Swiss Coffee this afternoon as well!

Unscathed. Michael did most of the painting. I caulked, sanded and added molding to the big gaps. I did try out the new sprayer though. I may use it four furniture painting. It is a pain to clean afterward though.

My room was deep red for many years, had the white poster bed, with white & red flocked roses (bedding and canopy). Friends used to say it look like a Valentine. Got sick of it eventually and decided to go with lime green. I must have been out of my mind. Three coats over the red, and still some red shows through. My mother always had her rooms off white.

Paint the red with kilz white and then the new color.
