Yikes, Johnny just cancelled for today. They didn't get the baseboard down in my bedroom before leaving last night so my furniture, including my TemperPedic mattress are out in the rain! They are covered by a piece of painter's plastic but if the wind blows I'm done for! My room is so small they can't get around the bed to install the baseboard with the bed in there. I have an email out to Eric the cabinet guy to see if I can hire him to come up and do it. He is a general contractor. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Get a couple of cheap plastic tablecloths and some heavy duty spring clips to cover your stuff - w use it when we have to store hay outside and it works great, less leaky than tarps.

Johnny's wife said he had a "mini emergency" on another job so he couldn't come today. She said she'll let me know later today if he can be here tomorrow. That translates into he won't be back until Monday. Wee were supposed to at least be able to sleep in the house last night but they only made that happen for Michael. They know my furniture is stil out in the rain. Sorry, but I find that is sort of typical. Guys want to do what it takes to please the man of the house. I also find it typical that men take most projects to a point just shy of the finish line then back off or worse yet, never finish it at all. My ex is the poster boy for that one!

So I am taking matters into my own hands to get back into my house. Going to call out some appliance installers, plumbers, electricians, etc if I am going to have to stay in the motor home until next week. Maybe I can get it done sooner. I think Johny should have, at the least, come by to either get the baseboard down in my room or help me move my bed and antiques back into the house.

Sadly this is my fireplace this morning as the wood mosaic tiles fall off, one by one.
