Ouch Mahonri - I have heard long periods of chicken deprivation causes weakness in mind and bone. I'm glad she was there to help you home but made up facts don't(hardly) lie - IF you have a few hens this would never have happened.

I think this is the REAL problem!

Mary, I have a huge sycamore tree that has branches hanging over my bedroom. Sycamore trees frequently dump tree size branches on anything. It makes me a nervous wreck. The very nice guy next door went out a couple years ago and cut the branches back as far and & high as he could reach - with a pole saw. Needless to say they are back.

I have been told you need a sycamore tree specialist to take them down. They are very difficult (read dangerous) to work on. You don't climb them and cut. You need BIG bucks to take them down. No one mentioned that when I bought it as a twig at K-mart in 1973.

This is one of our sycamore trees after a little wind blew by . . . .

Been painting again. I picked up this little table at Ross a few years ago for the granny flat. I have been using it as a nightstand until I bought a pair of vintage nightstands to paint. So, I decided to try the paint color and technique out on this little table before tackling the nightstands. I forgot to take a before pic before I started sanding, again!

I used Shabby paints chalk paint in Vanilla Bear for the top and drawer and a custom color I mixed myself for the legs. I finished the piece with a clear sealer followed by a hazelnut tone sealer. I really love how it turned out. Can't wait to start painting the nightstands tomorrow!

I really need to paint that red wall in my workshop because it makes the room dark and really messes with the photography!

Thanks Kathy! How is Mike doing?

Today was his worst day yet. He is in so much pain. He lays in the bed with his leg elevated. He is hardly eating, and is drinking very little. He refused to get up today. Yesterday we got him up for an hour, and it just wore him out. To top off all the pain, the pain pills cause constipation. Poor Mike . . . . truly suffering. Wednesday is his office appointment and they will set his surgery date. The Home Health Care nurse comes every day. It takes an hour to change all his dressings and clean the wounds.

Cylis was sick last night - puke and poop. He was better today and did eat some. Kayson is sick today. He has been coughing and is feverish. Just miserable and laying around.

THEN, our dishwasher went out today. . . .

Oh no to everything you just said! Good thing you have a little extra help with a visiting nurse coming daily. They will know early on if something is wrong, other than he has a nasty broken leg and he hurts! Keep him hydrated, but you know that.

As for the boys and the dishwasher, sheesh, lousy timing. Man, you have your hnads full and now dishes to wash too! I wonder if Calgon can still take you away? If so, you need some stat.

Take care of yourself so you can take care of everyone else. Double hugs today. :hugs :hugs
