Can't wait to hear from Kelly. She was camped at the coast and they said on the news that there would be 40-50 mph winds over there today!

I'm fine.

The weather at Dillon Beach was beautiful Friday and Saturday. Saturday night the winds started up. My youngest ended up not feeling well, so DH brought him home Saturday night. Oldest son ended up in with me on an air mattress in our car, so we had taken his tent down Saturday night. The storm came in about 1am and was done by 6am. It was still windy, but the rain was done. We walked the beach to look at the waves before coming home - it was super rough but beautiful at the same time. The fire department was stationed there for the weekend, because of the storm surge warnings with sneaker waves and undertow. I guess they already lost 8 people in the water. DH saw some people letting their 2 year olds run through the waves.

Can't fix stupid I guess. We were out of there at 8am yesterday.

The kids all had fun climbing the dunes and trying to fish for leopard sharks. They didn't have any luck catching anything but 2 mackerels. They did learn to not leave the bait (squid) unattended, as a seagull helped himself to their bait and they had to go buy another box.

So I was awakened at 5:39 a.m. to the sound of a very loud egg song. I got up, made a cup of coffee, put on a coat and flipflops and headed out to the coop. All the girls were in the yard celebrating. I went inside and found all three nest boxes in disarray and in the middle one, a pretty little reddish egg with white spots. My little Wellie laid her first egg! I grabbed the egg and headed out of the coop. I put my foot down on the step which was covered with dew. My foot slipped and I fell backwards into the coop with my left leg bent under me. I could not move for the longest time. Finally I slid around on the shavings (:sick) until i was able to slide my leg out. It took me until 7:30 to pull myself up and hobble to the front of the house to bang on Michael's window for help. He got me back in the house and into my bathroom to wash up. He knocked the shavings off me outside!

I am now in bed with my leg elevated, ice packs on the knee and ankle, bruised up, swelling, and in pain. Can't walk without my cane or walker. I am not sure this is going to be something I can get myself through without medical intervention. I hate even saying that! Going to see how the next couple of hours go and make a decision then. In the meantime, here's the egg!

Oh, I am glad it worked out well for you. I was concerned. Sorry I missed your call this morning. I was laying on the floor in the coop.

Mary, what is it with you and falling?  Geez, you are trying to do yourself in!  I hope you go to the doctor and get yourself checked out.

The egg is a nice color.

Uh, old lady with osteoporosis, spinal stenosis, scoliosis, kyphosis, and sciatica with sensory loss to the lower extremities = falling.

Yes, the egg is very nice. This was the only photo prop I could reach from my bed. I keep it on my nightstand. How appropriate is that?
