Well, looks like it was a hawk after all. My oldest son saw it on the ground in the chicken run and chased it off. He said it was either a Cooper's hawk or a Red Shouldered hawk by it's markings.

Jeeze, Kelly! I wonder if it has been hanging around for awhile and took advantage of Shadow being gone?

It smells so good in my house right now! I made bread and rolls for our leftover pot roast sandwiches tonight. Hopefully there will be some left at dinnertime.

Oh, that is so cute! I can't like it or comment because apparently we aren't "friends."

Haha! Sorry I don't know how to change that without changing my entire account to allow that. I know enough to make it public instead of friends only and that's about it!

My knee was hurting so bad last night that I couldn't sleep. I wrapped a heating pad around it set on the lowest setting and slept like a rock. Woke up with first degree burns all the way around my knee.

I hope the hawk was just passing through.

Oh my gosh, these look yummy!

Yes she is doing really well, and minds me most of the time. She now knows Come, Sit, Stay, Lay Down, Go to Bed, and Leave It (still working on it but it's coming!). Crate trained and house trained. Smart girl. She is almost 6 months old. Next we are tackling leash training and heel.
That's impressive for a puppy her age!
