I can't say for certain that one wasn't hauled off and eaten. I had numerous barnevelders, and I didn't count how many barnevelder bodies there were, I was too upset to think in that manner at the time.

Fox also bury some bodies for eating later on.

Well, my fingers are crossed for a good hatch for you. If you have any spares, and I still have a broody I am first in line. At this time they have all gotten their priorities in order and are off the nest. Hope it stays that way because I love having five chickens and only four laying. We still can't keep up with eating the eggs though.

Dang it! I think Goldie, my GCM, is going to win the battle or die trying. I just took her off 7 eggs again tonight. She bit me, so I pushed her off with a plastic bowl and she bit that too. Argh, I like having just 5 chickens!

I am hoping with no eggs tonight she just gives it up. She has been trying for weeks though. NO MORE CHICKENS!

I found Meyer lemons in the grocery store today! OMG, what am I going to make? I thought it was way too late or way too early. Probably hot house from some third world country. Like the USA!
