Stella's Social Club

The only thing that helps here is acidified copper sulfate in the water for a few days, 1/8 tsp in a gallon. Allen Wranch (Carla) told me that years ago. I give them only plain yogurt, maybe some egg yolk and gentle massage if she eats anything. Sometimes that sour crop is relentless, I know. I personally never make them throw up, lost one that way (though she regurgitated on her own and choked, not me doing it)

Thanks both of you. I'm going to go to the feed store today. My pullet is so thin that I want to get something in her today. She is eating and drinking, but her crop is not emptying at night. I started massaging when I thought it was blocked, but now it is certainly sour.

I've never had crop issues until last year. 10 years almost of having chickens and all of a sudden last year it starts. It's really weird. I lost 3 hens last year from sour crop.
Must be an environmental change

Well, I couldn't find the pills anywhere local. My feed store ordered the copper sulfate, so I put that in her waterer today. We will see if it helps, or if it's too late for her. She is really light in body weight, but is still cruising around. I caught her, and she is now isolated.
