Stella's Social Club

So the guy that I sold a chicken to today, calls at about 8PM and tells me he thinks he lost his wallet at my place, so DW and I are outside with flashlights looking everywhere... So while I'm out there, I think about the three older Icelandic girls that are still in the west grow out pen and I decide to go move them into the coop with AC as there is more room there now.

I got the Black one and the wheaten looking one and I go to grab my Stella look alike and she jumps off the roost and out the door!!! I tried to catch her, got my net and I've never seen a chicken fly so well, it was almost like a pheasant!!!... O MY GOODNESS... she flew all the way across the yard and to the top of the coop with AC, from there she flew way up into the Oleanders... at least 25 feet high.... I hope I can find a way of catching her tomorrow.

As I'm coming back in, the guy calls and tells me he found his wallet underneath the seat in his car........

I went to the barn to check on my turkeys and they were all gone. There wasn't even one left! I heard sounds coming from the other side of the barn and I went in and found two of them but that was all I could find. I had them in my arms bringing them back to their area. When I turned around I found the other 6!

I'm glad they are all accounted for.

My DW put an old step ladder under a maple tree because the turkeys were looking up at the low branch, like they wanted to get up there. Well they went up, and later the tutors followed them up.

The turkeys do seem to love being up high.................Did they go back to their coop at sundown?

They were all going over the wall to tear up the barn when I was down there at 6:00 a.m. I wish Lukka would let them out into the fenced yard!

Pullet is back. I simply cannot catch her! AND I'VE TRIED... what is "Icelandic" for "FLYER"? that needs to be her name.
