Downsizing in progress - BIG time.

I had a medical procedure done today. Thyroid biopsy. The doc was reassuring me, when I told him I was not looking forward to having needles in my neck. He said, "Well, yours is so big, I can't miss it. I could almost do it without an ultrasound. Some have nodules so little that I have to be careful and dodge the carotid."

Been there, done that one myself, have the moon shaped scar as a souvenir. The surgeon walked in the room, said what are you here for? I said, I have a lump on my thyroid. He said, I know, I can see it from here (ten feet away). Before I had a chance to be nervous, I was laying on the table with a needle in my neck and the nurses hand to squeeze.

A week later I was recovering from the surgery, benign, just the biggest dang goiter he had ever seen. My Dad had the exact same thing happen at the same age, so I'm assuming mine was a genetic issue. Now I'm just on hormone therapy daily.

Good luck to you

Quote: It was time! Long past time, actually. I became frustrated at supporting a healthy young lady with no job and (apparently) no gumption to get one! Enough is enough! I might even get my guest house back, as an actual guest house!

On the plus side, with the downsizing, maybe you won't have to work anymore.
I was just thinking the same thing!

OMG Kathy! Now if I could just make my daughter pay her rent I'd be happy. Never happen. But she is getting the boot when my youngest granddaughter graduates. I don't like this new trend of supporting one's children into their senior years. And I am not referring to high school! My daughter is 40+! Ridiculous.

p.s. does this mean I won't be getting a door mat?

Yeah- what is with this new trend anyway? We weren't raised that way. I didn't think our kids were either. Obviously, wrong. Give 'em an inch, they will take a mile.....

I think there are a couple door mats over there. I will check on that!
