Go or it Kathy! Make sure your wether doesn't have access to grain and chicken feed. They will devour it and the wethers get urinary stones and can die. My biggest task with my wethers was keeping them out of the chicken yard!

Yikes! Maybe I should look for a miniature cow instead.

No.
I am gonna go "visit," them on Thursday though.
I can't decide until I see them. Not sure what I want - or if I want!

Really though, I do want a milk goat. I want fresh goat's milk and I want to make goat's milk soap, too. To have that means I would have to have a buck. I could not leave only 1 buck and 1 doe together all the time, or she would be bred constantly. Don't want that. So - that means I would "need" a wether for each one (so they are not alone). Two little adjoining pens. ??? hmmm, still thinking on it.

I could probably get you a good deal on one of the bucks here: http://biglerknobgoats.com/Bucks.html

karimw and debs_flock, what do you see in this picture to make you say the one closest to the camera is a boy?

Both boys
I think boy because of the shape of the head and eyes as well as the color. Females have a delicate head and softer eyes. I'd have to watch them in action to know for for sure - the snood doesn't show well in this picture but they change a lot from minute to minute and hard to see sometimes. He's lost a lot more of his fuzz than the pictures of the poults I'm sure are female. Again, I'll make a disclaimer because of the angle of the picture and their age. I'll try to get some pictures of my hooligans, though they are quite a bit older than yours. I should clip wings, but they are soooooo fun to watch as they wander about terrorizing the neighbor hood!

These 3 are the pygmies:

Awe SO cute! Happy Birthday Kathy! That would be a great present!

I think you're trying to keep up with Mary. First emus, now goats, next donkeys!

I've been wanting a milking goat, but we can't be tied down like that. We go to the mountains frequently in the summer, so having my own is out for now. I own a goat share though, so I do get the milk. Chevre cheese is really easy to make.

I just LOVE this one. The coloring is so pretty.:

Thanks for the turkey sexing info.

Kathy, will your goats do anything special -like faint, or are they just plain conscious goats? Not that there is anything wrong with that.
