OMG, did a lot of coop rearranging the past few day. Went to lock up the Chickens tonight. ALL the Icelandics decided to sleep in the hug redwood tree... Are you kidding me:/ my husband and I just spent over an hour getting them all down and putting them in the coop. I hope they don't do this every night..I'm not to sure if I will be able to get my husband to climb that big tree again... YIKES!

yikes. I remember the first night I brought my first two home ( the day I had them in my car Molly)
that night went to put them in the coop. nowhere to be found. next night I found them about 60 feet up a big Incense cedar that is in there yard... took a few nights of HERDING . finally they realized the coop was more cozy than being out in the rain.

Here is a video of Elska, her chicks and Falki demonstrating why Icelandic chickens were called "pile chickens" by the early settlers......

And for those of you, like me, that have a service in which videos that forever to load.....a few of pictures..........
Falki on the top of the pile...

Falki keeping an eye out while Elska and chicks "work the pile"....
