Congratulations Mary! It looks fabulous!

Dear Friends,
It is with much sadness that I share this information for our friend Kathy. She lost her sweet emu girl, Wilma recently. Wilma became very ill and despite Kathy's best efforts, she could not be saved. Kathy is heartbroken and just couldn't bear to type these words to let her friends know. I understood completely and offered to do it for her. If you haven't loved an emu, it is probably difficult to understand the bond. They steal your heart completely.

Wilma was the light of Kathy's life, her constant companion. Adjusting to the loss has been very hard. Please keep sweet Wilma and our friend Kathy in your thoughts and prayers.

Mary
:( You know angles always take care of birds, they both share wings.

Ok, i got popped into the wrong place on the thread!
CONGRADULATIONS! So exciting! we got our house last year and i'm still tickled pink with everything, even with the amount of work we are doing. At least when you have to do work you know its done right ( or know what will break later, hahah)

Keep breathing, the last few days of escrow are emotional. Remember no news is good news, and get ready to sign a zillion papers!

Kathy,

I'm heartbroken for you. I know how much Wilma meant to you.

I'm sending prayers of comfort your way.

I wish I could take all of the pain away for you.

This news just ruined my day.

Love you,

Dar

Thanks everybody!

Answers to Mahonri questions:

Mary, does it have an in ground pool or is that an above ground pool in the aerial that has been removed.

That is an old doughboy above ground pool with a deck all around. It is in remarkable condition and Michael is thrilled!

Looks like a LOT of work.

It is a lot of work but it will all be worth it to live the dream!

How will you fill the non-existent pond? Do you have irrigation rights?

The pond is full! It is just overgrown with cattails which we will have removed. It is fed year round by the Nevada Irrigation District canal that runs into the pond and out the other side and under the road. We pay for water rights by the miner's inch of we want to use it for irrigation. If we don't, the canal will still run through the property and keep the pond full.

Have you sold your current home?

No, we haven't even listed this home for sale yet. We want to get out of it first and move the animals before putting it on the market. I don't have a mortgage so it is not a big deal. We will take pics of it furnished before we move because realtor's always want that but otherwise it will be vacant. We have a monitored alarm system so we aren't too worried. I was more worried about an emu pecking the skin off of a potential buyer! We should get quite a bit more for this house than we paid for the new one so that's a big plus.

Ok, that's taken care of, here's the latest. A communication error on my part caused the coop builder to load two of my new small coops onto his trailer today for delivery to the new house. Oops, forgot to tell him we aren't closing on the new house until next week. So he brought them here and then when we close he will come back and get them and take them to the new house. He needed his trailer to transport someone else's coop. So I get to touch and feel them early! I really like them. They are built like tanks. He usually doesn't include floors because they are meant to sit directly on the ground with the sides open wire. Not on my watch! I wanted solid sides and floors so he built floors for mine. I am going to glue my vinyl flooring down while the coops are here and then he will set the coops on the floor and bolt them down. The edges won't lift that way!

Forgot to mention that I'll have Foy's auto-opening pop doors on all of them! Plus auto-waterers in the runs and PVC feeders I can fill from outside!
