Sorry to hear you're having problems. Here are some things to do to possibly resolve your problem:

1. Try resetting your computer. Turn it off, wait 2 minutes, turn it back on.
2. Clear your internet browser's cache / history of files. It's easy to do and almost as important as taking out the trash at home! See instructions here and here.
3. Determine if the problem is because of your browser and/or plugins and extensions. Download a free version of either Google Chrome or Firefox and see if the thing that was broken now works.
4. If you're still having problems, continue to the steps below:

If after following those steps, here are a few questions that will help us find, duplicate, and hopefully resolve the problem you are having. Go through these questions and reply with all the details of your problem:

• Describe your problem in as much detail as possible!
• What is the URL of the page that you had problems?

I am using Apple/Safari.
I never have problems attaching photos to emails; my computer is turned on and off daily.
I was very specific in my previous post, but will try to respond to the second section of your post.

describe problem: unable to post a photo to attach to my buyselltrade text

no error messages received

exact steps: after typing in my text for buyselltrade, I selected the "select photo" button,
my desktop que appeared and I highlighted the photo name off of my desktop
when I could see the photo, I selected the "choose" button
the buyselltrade worksheet then indicates "selected 1 file" but I do not see the image.
I "submit" the ad and get a "please wait" notice
then I can see my posted "thread starter" and it says "no photo found"
when I check my listing under "chickens 8 weeks and older" the text is visible and no photo is showing

first time I've tried to post any photos on BYC

I quit using Firefox because I had problems

I see this thread is still active, I surfed around and couldn't find any reference to the problem I have encountered. When I go to upload a photo, only some of the pictures on my computer show up here is the sequence I go through:

In the Embed an Image box I select "Upload Files..." box, which takes me to a
"Choose Files to Upload" window and see this:


However, this is what should show up:


I don't have any trouble uploading the pics I can see, I just can't see most of my picture files at all.


This is the first time I have had this problem, it persisted after shutting down and restarting, and updating Java.

That's really odd for sure!

As a test, can you try a different browser besides IE (firefox or chrome) and see if the same thing happens? That will help isolate if it is a browser issue or something else.

I'm having trouble uploading pictures to forums. After I select my image it says uploading 0/1 files, but it never uploads them. I even tried letting it sit for an hour or so, thinking maybe it was just slow, but it never worked. I tried to submit anyway (even though it didn't show the files were uploaded) and it says error uploading images. I've tried on multiple forums, and also tried adding pictures to a folder, but nothing works. Frustrated!

What operating system and web browser are you using? Are the pictures jpg or another format? How large is the file size of the pictures?

I have internet explorer and windows 7. The pictures are jpeg. Initially I tried loading a larger file, but downsized them when that didn't work. I have tried 800x534 and 640x427, around 200 to 320 KB, depending on the picture. Downsizing them didn't seem to help at all. When I first joined this site I didn't have any trouble adding a profile picture, I just can't post any others.
