Sticks in Dust Bath

Is it okay for there to be little sticks/roots in a dust bath? Could this harm the chickens in any way?

I sift it out every so often, but theres always a few twigs/pieces of mulch in it. Chickens are messy.

Mine dust bathe outside in holes they create, so there are always small sticks. I wouldn't worry about it. Plus, they seem to be pretty good at digging until the area they roll in is just soft dirt. And I second the comment that chickens are messy!

A few small sticks and roots and stuff is fine, if a stick is large enough to be in the way the chickens will simply dust bathe around it.
