Sticky chick. Stuck in egg.

This is the first little one... the only one to hatch normally.

So, the duckling is breathing, just barely. It looks as though his nostrils may be clogged?

What do you think? And if so, what do I do?

I’m not sure what to do if the nostrils are clogged. I’ve never felt with that before. Is the chick still alive though? Did it make it?
Sorry for the late reply. We found out that our landlady is selling our house and it's been a little overwhelming trying to figure out what we're going to do. It won't be easy to find a new place that will let us have a cat, 2 dogs, a silkie rooster, a full grown white Pekin and 2 ducklings (pretty sure it's the rooster that will be the hardest to get approved) . Unfortunately we don't have the money for a down payment. We'd buy this place if we could, because we like it here and our mortgage payments would be a lot cheaper than we're currently paying in rent. So far I haven't been able to find anything in our budget. But we'll figure it out.

In response... I did some very quick research and found that you can use an eye dropper syringe (very gently) to clear the nostrils. After all is said and done we have 2 adorable Chocolate Runner/White Pekin cross ducklings.

I'm pretty sure our babies are a male and a female at this point. Mostly based on size difference and the tail differences, but those things could also be due to the breed crossing. Can anyone give me pointers on how to sex ducklings?

We named them Miracle (left) and Summit (right)

I know how hard it is looking for a place to live with roosters. I can relate to your situation. But I’m so happy to hear that the babies made it! That’s something to be happy about. And they’re so cute. I wish we could have ducks where we live. My kids want them so bad but we’re also trying to move. I don’t know how to sex ducks but I think you can post their pictures in the ducks section and ask. It never hurts to ask. The people here are very helpful and knowledgeable.
