STILL broody

I have not attempted this, so I'm no expert. The only thing I can think of is, keeping her where the action is may be better. Broodies like quiet, dark places. I wouldn't want to give her anything that would even seem to be a smidgen of encouragement.

Or give her chicks!

Kidding!!!!
You said the coop is small so no I would not give her chicks.

Really just wanted to say that breaking a broody is not always easy. It is hormones telling her to sit. I agree keeping her where it is bright and active will help.

We were doing really well today, Golda in jail all day until we got home. I let her out to free range with the others and take a dirt bath. Left the coop closed so she couldn't get to the box. Went out to put them up for the night and found my husband opened the door to the coop and Golda was in the box. :he

It is an instinct. I let them get over it on their own. Eventually, they will rejoin the flock. The only problem I have seen with that is when they rejoin the flock, the flock does not recognize the hen, and that leads to some pretty nasty hen fights.

The thing is that she doesn't seem too upset to be in the chicken jail. She doesn't pace or make noise or even act mad. I wonder if this is doing her any good at all!
