Barred Rocks have a better temperament than Rhode Island Reds IMO. Australorps would be a very good choice to mix with Orpingtons as well if you have them as an option.

We have been building a house. My to do list has been endless. I didn’t need another project. It gave me plenty of time to research and make coop changes.
