Still no babies from Meyer today

I can't believe it. So far they all look O.K. One of the EEs is a bit slow, but I"ll keep an eye on her. Man I am never doing that again. EXPRESS from now on. I'll have picks soon.
How about everyone else. Anything yet????????????

I have 7 I think will make it, 4 others are still alive, but barely out of 24 shipped, 25 ordered. The heat pack in the box was stone cold, if they put in grow gel it couldn't tell.

They had the wrong phone# on the box. thankfully my husband wasn't on time for work so got the call at home as he was rushing out the door. If he hadn't it would have been real late tonight before I got the message and they all would have been gone.

I was suprprised the standard plymouth pullets died and some of the tiny Japanese lived. You would think being twice as big would have made the plymouths hardier.

I contacted MPC right away and they are reshipping on May 11th. they were very good at responding to my anger and upset promptly and professionally. They even modified qty's at my request.

It's been a sad morning checking on them every few minutes to encourage the weak ones to drink and take the newly dead out. It's been a learning experience for several kids who are here at the office today.

I also lost one of my BO layers lastnight, Marigold. I think she had an egg break
internally.

Lost 4 more since this pic was taken

I can't tell you how sorry I am. The babies left are beautiful. I'm sure you are doing all you can My weak EE semms to be hanging on. But I'll be watching. Pease keep us updated

Any hints on helping the weak ones? I've been dipping their beaks in sugar water and they've been drinkign then, but no action on their own. No attempts to eat, not moving much. They are warm and safe. Is that all I can do?

One of the mods told me "no sugar" Use apple cider or a bit of honey in the water. Sugar will give them the runs. I'll try to find the post

It was MissPrissy. Do a search of the topic "Sugar water" With toyzbox as the author. I never knew

The final survivior count is looking to be 6 or 7.

2 black tail buff, one is not as perky, 4 greys and 1 barred rock.

the plymouth rocks fought hard, but never drank on their own and finally I had to ease their passing.

God, I hope these 7 make it. I'm tired to putting dead babies in the freezer.
