Stinky nasal discharge?

In the event that someone else googles this, this old thread will come up so I'll post.

When you say "shavings" you aren't using cedar shavings in your coop area, are you? This is a toxin to chickens and will actually create sores and block their airways. It's the fumes from the cedar. Pine can be slightly irritating but should not cause an issue like this, which cedar might--cedar issues can also be undetected yet the sores in the throat will eventually shorten their life.

If not, then it can be a bacterial infection, treated with Terra Vet. Which you can get at a feed store

If it is coming from the throat it could be sour crop.
