I know the next two weeks will probably seem like a hundred years but hang in there. The light at the end of the tunnel just has to be real this time. That darn express train has come through it way too many times in the past few months. It is time for it to be derailed and for Max to come home. Of course if Max's captors get flattened during the derailment well that would just be a bonus.

Come December 16, I hope everyone involved in stealing your horse gets what's coming to them. I hope that Max comes home safe and sound. Have a vet check him IMMEDIATELY. Keep track of any costs it takes to get the horse back into health(if he's not already).

Will you be pushing for reparations or just to get the horse back?

I wonder why if Max was such a bronc on day 16, why he didn't just load him up and haul him back to you??? Because he's a big fat LIAR. Sounds like you laid a good foundation, I'm certain that unless things are totally messed up beyond belief with the local justice system, that they'll find in your favor. You may not get him back right on the 16th, they may give him a few days to make arrangements, but I would be there with a truck and trailer ready to roll to go get him if they do allow you to do so. I'm going to be thinking lots of positive thoughts for you and Max!

Of course there's the fact that horses are considered unpredictable under the law in most states

And if he was that terrible, why would you be so desperate to get him back? People don't lease bad horses, they sell them. Far lesser chance of it coming back to bite them in the ass that way.

I would be careful with the amount of information you put on here, but I know that you want to keep us updated. I'm just afraid they will accuse you of telling important details about the case while it is being tried...

You said there's another hearing that you don't have to go to... it pays to show up for everything, no matter what you're told.

I haven't been in your position but I have been told not to show up or I don't have to, and then the opposite side doesn't show-it looks good if you're there for everything. I am hoping you get Max back ASAP from this yahoo.
