It is so abundantly clear at this point that you are simply being railroaded. They are just hoping that you will finally give up. What is the population of this town? I am sorry to say that I don't think you are EVER going to get any help from anyone in that town. I am sorry, but I totally agree with whoever it was that said several pages back that you need an attorney. I just don't see this getting resolved without one.

As far as the article in the "paper" (what a joke), they obviously are trying to paint YOU negatively. The comments the "editor" (again, what a joke) posted on the comments just shows that they are trying to portray you negatively and make it look like YOU are doing something wrong. I think that you should just focus on getting an attorney OUTSIDE of this community and focus on news outlets OUTSIDE of this community.

I am sorry to also say that I think the letters need to be a little more professional and well reasoned than some of what I have seen. There is really something to be said about getting more flies with honey (just applying that to reporters, etc...that might help you). I know how outrageous the situation is. I know how unfair it is. That said, you simply CANNOT go to someone that you (universal "you", not you specifically Ropo) are trying to get help from and start the communication with an insult about where they are from, etc... People from the Midwest/South are often *very* proud of their communities. I think they are FAR less likely to help if they get an email/letter that starts out with an insult about them or their community. Please people, don't do more harm than good.

I will put together a letter on my own and send it out to all of the major Oklahoma news outlets as well. I hope it helps some, but I really think that however you have to do it, you HAVE TO GET AN ATTORNEY AT THIS POINT. I would literally sit on the phone some day and call EVERY SINGLE attorney in Oklahoma until you find someone to help you. How many BYC'ers live in Oklahoma? I can't believe that no one knows an attorney that can help you. Surely, somebody must know someone down there that can step in. Good luck with all this. I don't know what else to say other than it is obvious that they are banding together and trying to just force you into giving up.

Its interesting, this story has been the talk for the better part of a year on a farming community website that sees around 200,000 unique visitors a month from all over the world an as received over 2100 comments on this story alone. Yet you write a little story about it an get a hand full of comments an assume its from one or two people. How important is livestock theft to a bunch of farmers... What could be more important.

I don't think it's possible to see all the comments. Mine hasn't been up yet. They obviously are picking and choosing which ones will be visible. There is no second or third page. On our local news web site, you can go back and look at ALL the comments, page after page if there are that many. They are edited for profanity and name-calling, etc. but otherwise are posted. Could it be that this news outlet doesn't want everything seen?? Hmmmm.

Oh, Ropo! I saw that the hearing has been rescheduled for APRIL 29. Another month! How can you stand it? At least now the one guy is admitting he has the horse, and he is responsible for keeping Max in good condition. I somehow don't think he would starve "his grandson's" horse.

Hang in there.

OK I wrote the name of the fourth month and something changed it to BYC. I went in and edited and the mystery writer changed it again. What gives?

Apparently we hit a nerve. Somebody left a comment on the new article about us "freaks" from wherever we are. I would suggest not responding to him. He has a skewed view of our responses and snapping back at him will not help ropo's case. Just let it go.

Of course the DA could focus on all of those other things he mentions if they had gotten the case decided already instead of dragging it through the mud.

I am concerned about something mentioned in the new article, though. Trammels says the horse was "too crippled to ride" when he got it. Ropo, was there anything wrong with your horse prior to the lease?
