Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

The "vet" was the father of the judge that heard the case originally, that's why she recused herself ~ no they aren't all in the good ole boys network whatever made you think that?????????

I personally don't care *who* the horse was bought for or given to...you're right, that sounds like a manipulation and a cheap one at that. I personally wouldn't give up anything of mine just because a kid wanted it. And who even knows if the kid even wants the horse to begin with? Maybe he is just another pawn in the game here.

Yes, and if by chance any BYC'ers decide to picket in the case of a REAL court date, I think you guys should make up fliers with pictures of Mikaela and Max and pass them out to people on the sidewalk. That way you give a face and a personhood to the victims here. People are much more likely to sympathize when they see a face and feel like they know a victim. People going in and out of the courthouse will pay more attention to it and not just say "some woman lost her horse over by the courthouse".

Oh no...remember, the horse was bad tempered and bucked, according to Ryals. That's why he sold it! Besides the fact it was crippled.

If anyone with half a brain would string all their excuses together, they'd see that the horse was stolen and sold not to mention the extortion. Why a judge won't look at what has already been admitted and make a decision based on that, is beyond me.

Yes. Horses are being given away everywhere right now. Two months ago I was offered 8 of them from two different farms, and all in the same month.

And "too crippled to ride" is an awfully wooly statement...a horse can be "too crippled to ride" one day and fine the next. He could have anything from a busted piece of hoof to a busted leg. So what exactly does that mean and how does it figure as a defense, is what I'd like to know.

He wasn't too crippled to buck though

Ah, now I get it! Freedom of the Press is when you have enough political and financial backing to buy your own paper so you can spin and print stories any way that furthers your agenda. You are then free to print what you want.
Whatever happened to journalistic integrity?
And if posting that comment about BYCers being 'nutcases' isn't defamatory then they have their heads up their

Just sayin'....

Tabloids don't believe in journalistic integrity. Just because you call yourself a community newspaper and don't have pictures of aliens on the front page doesn't mean you have a decent heart enough to try and tell the truth. Pointless public bull, and all papers are probably guilty of it at some point to some degree.

The vet was the father of the first judge---reason she recused. His name, and hers, were in the first article printed Mar 31, unless it's been edited out by now. She probably didn't realize her father had treated the horse in question until the hearing, so was justified in recusing. Just wish it didn't take so LONG to reschedule something. You know what they say, the wheels of justice grind slowly, but exceedingly fine.

Just a reminder folks, Please don't put names in the posts---we don't want this to come up when someone googles them. Mods warned that it might get this thread shut down.

Now I'm thinking we'll get to hear about YET ANOTHER postponement/recusal/refusal/whatever on a decent court date because this

guy is going to want to have a funeral. You heard it here first if they pull that one next.
