Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

Quote:
Not like they had pictures of max and he has several horses so they probably had no clue.. especially speaking as one who couldn't give a rats about the newspaper. If a neighbor was giving away a horse here I wouldn't have a clue it was tied up in legal hassle and I wouldn't even be too suspect because we have several horse rescuers and rehabilitators out here that literally give the patched up horses away to anyone with property and feed for it.

BUUUT thats assuming I even believe that BS. He's hiding it on a family members property or SOLD him. Why would he give him away when he's been paying for a lawyer with effort to keep Max?

honestly this is a very likely case. hiding the horse else where is as easy as walking downthe road and turning him lose into another pasture.

I say go out there with the deputy, ask for the horse, if he says he gave it away then he needs to be arrested for a host of items. Also, demand for the name, address and telephone number of the person he gave the horse to, go to their address and inform them they have received a stolen horse, and take the deputy with you.

Can the DA call the judge? Besides obstruction of justice, grand theft, horse rustling, receiving stolen property he has also committed contempt of court. The judge could technically throw him in the pokey until the horse is returned.

Cannot believe the emotional roller coaster you are on ROPO. Praying for strength and endurance for today

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree post on Craigs list and call the local news crew. and go down to the police department or court house an get to that farm. I can not belive this. I would press charges on the guy immediatly with the judge order it should be possible, but with this case who knows.....

(insert lots of cussing here)

ok. the first thing you need to do is to make sure the guy gets arrested. DO NOT assume that those cops will do their job. if you can't personally be at the jail to see that he's brought in, call them relentlessly. hopefully the DA has suggested that the Sheriff's office get a warrant to search ALL the guy's property. in this situation, it shouldn't be particularly hard to get a judge to sign the order. you or the DA need to be present when that search is done. they may not let you, but i don't think they can stop your representative. they need to be THOROUGH.

IF Max isn't on the guy's property, then you should pursue serious charges against him. like in the previous case, it's most likely going to be a State vs idiot situation, but it will be up to YOU to make sure that the case is taken seriously. as you've unfortunately seen, no one in the "system" works for you as hard as you will. at this point, you might be able to find an attorney who will take the case pro bono since it's escalated from a "horse issue" to contempt of court and basically trafficking in known stolen goods. there are only two legal excuses for not obeying a court order: either the party didn't know about it or it was not possible to obey. neither of these are the situation here. he is CLEARLY in contempt. sell the lawyers on the trafficking angle when you speak with them. trafficking is a BIG DEAL and it is rarely a one time deal- these people should be investigated for a pattern of trafficking.

seriously don't want to sound like the doom and gloom patrol, but i want you to have the tools you need to get through this as fast as possible.

Does the judge know that the uncle gave Max away last night?
I think the deputy is "helping" the uncle, like letting him know that you were awarded your horse back and were going to go get him.

Just remembered that the judge had told the uncle not to remove the horse for where he was right? So the uncle went against the judges orders. Something smells very fishy to me.
