Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

I really have alot of praise for you, RoPo, in sticking it out. I love your song, fits perfectly.
I think once his feet are trimmed, they will look alot better to you. But I have found that ShureHoof is cheap and works great. I think you're right on about some oil in his diet.

I'm so happy for you! And judging by how long those nasty men stuck it out , I would worry about retaliation as well, not just to the horse but your property.

Good luck!

He checked, but all gut sounds were normal. I'll be worming him tomorrow. He has fleas and ticks on him (ticks I expected, but fleas?!) so he's on treatment for that also. I'll be feeding him BOSS with his feed tomorrow, trying to find out anything else that won't make him sick. I saw some hoof conditioner, but am wary of it. I know NOT to use sealant, it'll keep the moisture out...I need the moisture at this moment.

Try to find this for his feet

This is a close second

Also Biotin but it has to have Methionine in it to work

Wonderful news and about time. And a wonderful picture of you and Max.

I would hold off worming for a week. BOSS is great. I gave it to both of my horses and their coats shined up and my first girl, Miss Kitty who came with chronic thrush and cracks due to poor diet, both girls ended up with healthy strong barefoot hooves.

I would strongly recommend you go check out Soul of the Horse and read up on the benefits of keeping Max barefoot for overall health and soundness. http://www.thesoulofahorse.com/barefoot.htm

Enjoy
having your guy back and be sure to keep the pictures coming.

I entirely agree with barefooted horses. They are happier. The crack is vertical, so he won't be able to have the shoes off for quite awhile. It's appears to be all the way to the hair. Which sucks.

All my horses go barefoot, save my 4 year old colt, but only because the trainer prefers shoes on 'em. I am SO happy you have your Max boy back! I don't think I would have the sheer patience and endurance you did through those times.

I wanna send you a billion hugs and a trillion carrots for Max! You better give him treats from all of us when he's gotten over shots and wormer
