Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

Okay, for whatever it's worth, I just submitted a link to this thread to Channel 2, AND complained about their lack of interest in justice in NE Oklahoma. Worth a shot, I say, and about the only way I can help from clear up here.

Thank you Nana2KJS. I will try and call again today.

Meanwhile I'm getting emails that say "I think I've found your horse for sale on craigslist." And my personal favorite "Give up...it's over and the horse is gone."

If someone did buy the horse it is still stolen so who ever owns it has to give up the horse and return him to you then go after who ever sold them the horse in civil court and uncle gets in possession of stolen property and selling stolen property end of story that is basic criminal law did the sheriff and deputies sleep through this class or what this is so stupid, I can not believe that this is even happening I bet if you were a guy you would have the horse back and both the guys would be in jail I hate this, I wish there was something I could do to help but I will keep praying for you and lending any advice I can think of you might get out the blue book of law its a dictionary that is every lawyers bible, look up the term stolen property and then the one for in possession of stolen property and take those to the sheriff's office and show then and tell them that this is the law so they have to follow it which means they have to go get the horse and return it to its rightful owner you, you can find this book at the library as the person there to show you the book and then make copies of the 2 definitions you can also look up the state law about stolen property and see if you can find the statue and take that also park you self in the sheriff's office until someone talks to you and does something. good luck.

Contact John Stossel at ABC. This isn't just a story about a stolen horse, it's a story about some deep local government corruption, and he likes to do stories like that. Have you contacted your State Senator and Legislator? Governor even? Go to anyone and everyone in authority, email them, call them, let them know what happening with this. Someone somehow sometime has to do something about it. I'm glad they got the rat that stole your horse, now they have to get the other rat that has also stolen your horse. If the Sheriff is actually helping the guy hide the horse because they're friends, the Sheriff could actually end up with criminal charges, too.

I'm sorry you're having such trouble. I hope they get on the ball and get you Max back really quickly and lock up all the rats involved. Unfortunately sometimes you have to also just wait for the wheels of government to turn, which can take a while. I hope the DA gets this taken care of quickly. I know it's never quick enough for us.

The DA is officially writing up a court order for the man to not move the horse or dispose of it in any way. The sheriff called back and said that "he didn't have the manpower to go check on a horse." BUT, he did tell me that the reason I cannot find the "ownership hearing" on the civil judge's rosters is because it has to be dealt with through the DA. So...it all winds up back to the DA, who has not called me since Thursday and is not in the building until after tomorrow.

I contacted both mine and his district's representatives. Neither can help, but both are writing to the AG to see if something can be done to hurry the process along. I am going to be contacting Senators and Governor's offices today and taking down more and more notes as to what I can do.

I think it's important to note that it's not the sheriff directly that I suspect. I suspect one of the deputies.

Know what i'm worried about? If that guy already guesses that he will eventually have to hand over the horse..is he feeding it? Is he still going to put out his money to care and feed the horse? Thats my worry...cause he sounds like a real jerk to me..he KNOWS the horse is stolen property and he insists on keeping it? What a low down jerk..
What did animal control say? You could always make a report of suspected animal neglect.(then they HAVE to go check it out..)..i mean if this guy is so low to keep stolen property, why would he care for the horse? tell them thats your concern..

That is the exact same fear I have red...

He seems like the sort to say "Well..since I'm not going to get to keep him!" But I'm hoping he wouldn't do that to an innocent animal. Next, I called animal control and without me knowing exactly where the horse is, they can't "search the entire county for him."

What do you think about making up some kind of form letter for people to follow and have ALL of us email the Attorney Generals office. There is enough of us here they would have to take notice. Or for that matter, anyone we chose to get the attention of! I just read through all of this today and I am still shaking my head.

I meant to ask....Is all of this happening in Talaqua? I know my spelling is off. sorry.....
