Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

I agree with repoing the horse and charging the thieves for the repo.

EVEN if you weren't awarded the cost of repo, at least you'd have your horse back. I would think you would be awarded any money lost in the courts.

why not just go & pick up the horse yourself? Sorry--I don't have time to read the entire thread...so you may be really far away....but it's just a thought. When I had to pick up my mare I got a hotel and staked out the house and waited until the lady went to the bar (her nightly routine) and got my mare. I left her a note with a photocopy of the contract. I never heard from her again.

Wow bold move! Good thing you let her know about the contract!

Oh yeah...it was notarized and we both hired lawyers during the process. It was a "high dollar" horse so I wanted to protect myself. Good thing, too...otherwise, she would have gotten the horse for about 1/4 of what she actually bought her for! LOL

I have to agree. I know you've been through a lot of trouble trying to get your horse back, but if it were me, I would go and get it myself. Even if it were far away, I would go get it.

**I am not being rude, I really don't understand how you cannot get back your own horse** I am sorry that you are going through this, I would hate to have this happen to me! He is a beautiful horse. My father had a colt that looked like him, he was less than two when we had to sell him. We had to go overseas for two years!

Nothing about this situation makes sense to me!
!. you filed police report, nothing
2. you hired attorney, who later quit
3. You got a judgement that horse was to be returned to you.
4. You still don't have your horse, and you and others are willing to go get him?

I have had two friends who leased their horses. One did have to go get her horse, person stopped paying stable & stable wanted horse gone. The other friend had no problems.

If I understand this, basically you have lost your horse?

ROPO, I have my repo man looking into it, He is game for a road trip with me. He is not sure if he has to have a license to cross the state lines to get a repo, he said he would do it for half of the amount the guys down there are asking. (if he is able to cross state lines to get it done) I will keep you posted.
