You've been given great advice here. I would add to NOT hold in your emotions. Afterall it is your beloved horse that is no longer in your care.... Don't let anger make you say stupid things and yell but let the court know exactly how you feel.....

I had to go to court with my now Ex-husband and it was hard but the lawyer told me the same thing... let the court see your emotions but keep them under control when anger is involved....

The justice system is meant to protect the accused. Innocent until proven guilty.... it's not a perfect system but one that this country was built upon. Sometimes the victim needs protecting too which is sad to know is not always done.
