I am still praying for you. It sounds as if the judge is on your side. Don't worry about the sympathy card with the seven year old. I bet the judge has seen ploys like that a million times.

Nope...haven't heard anything yet. I'm calling on Monday to see if any news has been made.

Originally, I had thought that the judge postponed judgment because the two men in the room were getting belligerent and angry. So I thought she has postponed so that I would have time to get out of the area before anything happened. Now, I'm wondering if she postponed because of the criminal hearing attached to the ownership hearing.

I hope you are right the first time, and that she postponed because she was thinking of your safety, RoPo, and that the ruling will come down Monday morning awarding the horse to you. It seems like a no-brainer, and I was surprised that the judge postponed at all. I don't know what she will do about the vet bills, but it seems that they would be the responsibility of the man who illegally sold his uncle the horse. I can't see how they could ask you to pay the vet bills, but if they do, pay them if that's all you have to do to get the horse back. Then go after Junior for the money. It sounds like Junior is the type of person who has no assets anyway, so......you might be stuck. Anyway, he may be in prison for a while, LOL! And it couldn't happen to a nicer guy!!

Too bad for the 7 year old, but his Grandpa can explain to him that he shouldn't have bought a horse from a crook, and that the horse now has to go back to his REAL home, and that Grandpa will buy him a NEW horse for Christmas.

PS It might be good to send someone else to pick up the horse, along with a deputy, just to keep from inflaming the situation even more.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but it seems that integrity and honesty are in a bit of short supply in that family........

BTW, did they ever say how much the uncle paid for the horse? Seems to me he wanted to sell it back to you for $7000.....?

Oh yes...he paid $350 and told me I would see my horse gain for $5,000.
