Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

The uncle's son's name should be in the court records of the first hearing. If he was there and he spoke at all, his name would be there, or maybe the uncle had to give the son's name as the person he gave the horse to. You should have access to these records, as a participant in that hearing. Just a thought, but maybe it will pay off.

That is an old story about the TSCRA HIP program I believe. The only organization that is helping victims nationwide with missing/stolen horses is Stolen Horse International, Inc, aka Netposse.com located at www.netposse.com. Check out the site and the work we do, and have been doing unofficially since our own horse was stolen in 1997. We have helped bring home horse across the US, some in days, weeks and years later. If you need to get in touch with us the contact info is on the site.

I have seen some of the conversations about the horse involved in the court procedure on this message board. Unfortnately this victim is not alone. This type of situation happens all the time.

Thankyou for being here! I actually came across Netposse.com this evening, and was thinking about whether you could help here. I think this is making us all very angry about what's happened here.

Well, I suppose you had another ball in your court too...if anyone had said anything, you could have blamed in on being pregnant and hormones!

You'd think so wouldn't you? EXCEPT, there was nobody taking records of the proceedings that day.

Edit, I'm really not trying to be rude, because I know all of you are trying to help. I'm just not in the best of moods. I'm angry, frustrated, sad, depressed...all in one big angry ball of angst.

Yes, and a lot of us own horses too, so we are pretty emotionally and, I would say, financially invested in this in a way. What happens here can set precedent for what happens to others later. If the word gets out that people can have recourse, this will become less likely to happen.

What really bugs me is that horse theft is still on the books in some states as a hanging offense...I would be curious if it still were in states of the Old West such as Oklahoma!

WHAT?! No court reporter?!

Don't blame you a bit for how you are feeling...this is some of the same kind of stonewalling the people I helped recover a horse for went through. Except they were unlucky enough to have no papers, bill of sale, anything...no documentation at all except people's word. It's horrible when someone you personally know is going through what you are going through. Hang in there, hugs your way!

You can also list Max with Stolen Horse International so we can put him on a webpage and send out alerts to thousands who can post flyers of him (made for you by us) that are available on your webpage. We have smoked many horses who were hidden around the country. Once you know where he is it may help.

Don't worry about sounding rude, RoPo. I didn't take it that way, anyway, and we understand completely. You are holding together remarkably well, better than I would be. I like NetPosse's ideas of posting flyers. Max is such a beautiful and distinctlvely marked horse that he stands out in a crowd and is easily noticed. PUBLICITY is the key. Get his picture and story out there to as many people as possible.

So that DA who seemed to be on your side has nothing new scheduled---hearings, etc???
