i'll bet when the cops get the first questioning phone call they will be right on their way to get him/you.

OMG yes!! I so hope she gets him home today and he is HEALTHY and sound!

I dont know horses real well, do they retain memory of "us" like dogs, cats do?

YES THEY DO!!!!!!! I knew a horse once that I completly took care of. We bonded so much and became best friends. I re-broke him and took care of him everyday. I have tears in my eyes just thinking about him. He would whinny everytime I came to the barn and he trusted me 110%. He was the best horse I have ever met. But his real owner had to sell him. I lost contact with her for 2 yrs. but she got the horse back after a long battle. I found a phone number and was able to track her down just to check up on things. I got to visit the horse after years. The minute that horse saw me and I saw him are eyes locked and he came running over to see me. He was so excited to see me and I just rested my head on his neck and started crying and just said hi sonny. And he nickered and just stared at me and put his head on my shoulder and just stood there and breathed in. It was the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me. So yes horses do remember people....even after years. The imprint on a person and never forget them.

Touching story <3 I remember one on animal planet about a little girl who managed to buy a horse from a gentleman who gave her a huuge price cut so she could buy it with her allowance. She had this horse for only about a year. Loved him dearly - used to play hide n'seek with him and then laugh at the tree with the big horsey butt. Well. She couldn't afford stable costs and neither could her family so she was forced to sell him. Many MANY years later the little girl became a grownup. Had property now and all that and was hoping to get a horse and saw a flyer about someone trying to rehome an abused horse that was purchased from the auction house at "Meat" price. She went and saw him and much to her astonishment not only was it her friend from so long ago... but he lit up... and proceeded to lead her in a game of hide n' seek. I cried watching the reenactment and it brings a tear to my eye just remembering the story.

So, I contacted the DA. They were ticked. So, they went to the judge and she did a writ. It won't take effect until tomorrow (don't know why), but in the morning, I will be able to go onto the property regardless of what the uncle believes. The deputy is bound by law to assist me and to state what is taking place. I am to go onto the property and proclaim which horse is mine.

The writ now gives me access to his property and he has no right to stop us. Tomorrow WILL be the day unless the uncle has moved Max, in which case he is breaking the law and WILL be brought in.

UGH, this is good & bad huh? At least the LAW is on your side now, and not fiddle farting around with this piece of manure. Good grief, I wish we could be there with you.
