He/she already has another auction going with different pics displaying. If it was that easy and fast to post pics of their own chickens, why not just do it in the first place!!!!!

I know...easier to use someone else's work I guess.

I wanted to thank all of you who emailed him/her asking about their photos. I think they knew I was not fighting this on my own!!

teehee, you're welcome. I asked if the pics represented the actual parents- haven't heard a peep back.

How was it not his intent to use my picture? He searched, found and posted a photo that was not of their birds to sell eggs from totally different birds. He has 100% positive feedback....what a bunch of baloney.

He is wrong. Your work is copyrighted from the moment you create it, whether it is marked as such or not. That's like walking around the pastures and picking up a cow he likes that doesn't have a brand. "I didn't know it was yours. Didn't have your mark on it."

I know and that's what I told him/her. Didn't need to be watermarked to be copyrighted.

"Your photos are not copyrighted, and therefore not protected from use."

WRONG! Idiot!

Your work is copyrighted from the moment you create it, whether it is marked as such or not. That's like walking around the pastures and picking up a cow he likes that doesn't have a brand.

Bingo!

"When is my work protected?
Your work is under copyright protection the moment it is created and fixed in a tangible form that it is perceptible either directly or with the aid of a machine or device.

Do I have to register with your office to be protected?
No. In general, registration is voluntary. Copyright exists from the moment the work is created. You will have to register, however, if you wish to bring a lawsuit for infringement of a U.S. work. "

Just like ANOTHER person we know who likes to use others pics, this guy is full of BS. By NOT sayin those are just suppose to represent the birds, MOST would think those are his birds. And unfortunately with EBAY, the feedbacks are encouraged as soon as the product is shipped. Not 6 months after you have grown out his garbage to know it is garbage. Same with this other EBAYer who sells eggs all the time. That person is claiming their lines are from a notoriuosly well known Exhibition breeders line, only the problem is, when she started to claim that line, it was physically impossible for 2 pullets to lay a dozen eggs week in and week out. Heck I can't even get a dozen eggs now in a week from my Blacks. I just HATE LIARS!!!! IF all you have is junk, be proud of your junk, like Fred G. Sanford junk man!

Has anyone posted a thread on how to watermark? Do you have to buy software or is there a free way to do it? I have three hatchery SLW and although I think they are nice they are not even close to your beatiful birds. If you are selling something I would want an actual picture of the animial or the breeding stock it came from. I still love your avatar picture that is why I ordered my SLW. In the future I plan to get into the pure breds but for now I am content with my little flock.

The easiest way is to go into something like the paint program that comes with Windows and use the text feature to put something like your farm name or website in the center of the picture.

I've been using a free program: ImageWaterMarker. It's fairly easy to use. It took me a bit to figure it out, but then I'm not the most computer literate person around.
