Stomach gurgling/ tiny poo/ strange behaviors.

Did you give her the calcium? That's the most important thing. But the egg blocking the cloaca is going to cause death in 24 hours unless you can get that egg out.

How close to the vent is the egg? Can you see it? If it's not right up against the vent opening, you have a very narrow window to syringe some egg white just inside the vent. You don't want to shoot it up her @$$, but just moisten the inside rim of the vent to make it slimy so when the egg reaches that point, instead of hanging up against the vent, it will shoot out of her.

So we finally got her to let us give her a proper check up- I inserted my fingers as far as my fingers can go and can not feel an egg. She’s had her calcium and baths. She was feeling better, eating, and standing with her legs less splayed after I lubricated her vent- but she still hasn’t passed her egg.

Could I be something else? Her intestines and lower abdomen are really hard. Her I am beside myself with worry- the emergency clinics here won’t treat a chicken and the two vets that do were closed today.

Just because you can't feel an egg doesn't mean there isn't one hung up inside her. Most often, it is the shell-less eggs that are the culprit, and they're the most difficult to pass.

Is she pooping at all? What color is it? How about fluid discharging from her vent? Is the bedding soaked under her? Smell it. Yes. Smell it. Does it have an unusual acrid odor?

Continue the calcium and encourage her to drink lots of water. Use sugar in it to encourage her to drink and the glucose will help her, too.

There was once a shell-less egg in one of the boxes last summer, so this all makes sense.

She has defecated and her bedding is dry, no fluid from her vent. I gave her blankets a whiff and nothing smells unusual. She had her breakfast and her calcium, and I’ll continue her epson baths.

Thank you so much for all of your advice ❤️

As long as she's pooping, it's not a major crisis. Watch for cecal poops. Absence of cecals often indicate blockage. That will lend more credence to a stuck egg being behind her lethargic behavior.

Also, keep an eye on her crop. Blockages can sometimes lead to sour crop. Check it each morning to be sure it's emptying overnight.
