I've made up my mind - a red and a partridge. Definitely not white, though my light brahma hens never look dirty, I'm afraid silkie fur would be different than feathers of white birds.
Believe it or not, at some point I plan to free range them at least partially. Red and partridge will blend in well with the landscape. Or...they'll become pets and live on the screened porch.
I'm calling Ideal tomorrow.
Yeah, there is something magical about white silkies. Mine look dirty for approximately 3.4 hours after a rain. Then they are magically white again. If only the laundry detergents makers could figure out how they do it.
Silkies are awsome! Go GO GO............DO ITTTT......they give the whole package...raising them, they're quiet most the time, enjoying them as adults them Whammy! you've got a broody hen and a month later cute CUUUUTE babies waking behind her. Silkies are emotionally satisfying.....uh huh
You are so doomed, as you know Silky chickens have ESP and they have already attacked your subconscience with their evil powers. Don't you wish Silkies JUST ONCE would be used as packing peanuts, they are so soft and cushy. You could then honestly say, "I did NOT order those things" and be telling the truth. HenZ
