I thiknk we should start a "self regulation course" through BYC
What was going to be 6 little laying hens at our house has now grown over time to a flock of 22.
I`d be in the car already

So I broke the news to DH today.... we are going this afternoon! I started the conversation with 'How much do you love me' ... at which point he said 'Oh Sh...!'

Considering that we started out with a 4x4 coop and a 12x12 fully enclosed run that has now expanded to 10x12 coop and 12x30 enclosed run....

Oh I soooo know this line... Brief history... Couldn't have kids... "Honey how much do you love me?"... 11 yrs later... 6 kids (adopted) and over 25 (fostered)... Husband didn't want dogs... "sweet (evil) grin" we have 2 dogs.... DH "we are NOT having chickens...and besides the kids will NEVER help clean out the shed for a coop"... We have 17 chickens...

DH says, "I DO NOT want ducks!" We have 2 Pekin ducks (he likes them best)

DH "Why in the WORLD do we want bunnies?!" We have 2 new bunnies "Sugar and Spice"...


Oh Yeah... He loves me....

Only takes a few more posts, a little chicken wire, some 2 X 4's and plywood to expand the coop and run--go for it.

Anything else we can help you with? How about a few ducks and guineas to go with the chickens?

With the 4 new chicks I will have a total of 28.... but 2 of my hens are about to be rehomed to a friend with a lonely rooster.... so 26. Also we have an additional 3x10 side coop that opens into the main coop that we built for 'chicken introduction' before they go in with everyone else.
