Uh-oh. I just checked my grocery store app…they carry Vital Farms AND Pete & Gerry’s…this could be dangerous knowledge…Today is the day! So I bought 4 dozen pasture raised eggs from my local grocery stores. There was not a lot to choose from but I did try to buy the freshest date as possible. Each dozen is a different brand and all are brown eggs. I cracked open 2 eggs from each brand and all of them had a bulls eye! Needless to say that my incubator is full of eggs! I am excited and hope all of you enjoy this journey with me!

I set 7 eggs from my own flock in a diy incubator to test fertility. Out of 7 of my freshest eggs only one has developed.Day 18 is only 2 days away so my fingers are crossed. Good luck! That's how I got my idea. This winter when my ladies weren't laying. I bought eggs and they all that bullseye. I am going to Crack one open from each dozen and see.
Would love to watch and get updated on thisHi everyone!
Would you think it be crazy to buy eggs from the grocery store and try to hatch them? Probably is but I'm going to try it! Just for fun! I've seen and heard of people doing so. Course you want to know if the eggs are fertile first. There is a certain brand that I buy that the eggs appear to be fertile.
In about 2 weeks (need to let my 2nd batch of hatching finish) I'll buy some eggs and see how it goes. Though I know I would want to buy the freshest eggs possible.
Out of curiosity.. has anyone else done this? Comments and/or advice welcomed!
